LucidLights! Awarded “2007 Consumer Product of the Year”
at the biggest Inventor's Showcase event west of the Mississippi!

The last part of 2007 has been an exciting time for LucidLights, with TV interviews, awards, magazine articles, and more technical innovations all part of the exciting news.
On November 14, EJ and I demonstrated LucidLights on Channel 9 TV here in Denver. Gregg Moss has a morning segment called "Gregg's Gadgets". The interview was very short, but fun, and we've had a lot of people say since then, "I saw you on TV!". Our stadium model showed the "9 News" logo and other animations very well both live and on our VHS recording at home. LucidLights will show great at next year's Super Bowl!

On November 15, we presented at the largest Inventor's Showcase west of the Mississippi, here in Denver at the Cable Center complex, sponsored by The DaVinci Institute. Dozens of inventors displayed their creations for 2007, and about 500 people from around the country paid the $49 entrance fee to see the latest innovations. There were 48 celebrity judges in attendance, from major nation-wide publications, media, the business community, and even from two different TV science shows. It was a big, important event for LucidLights.
The results of the 48 celebrity judges were tallied and winners for several categories were announced. EJ and the rest of the crowd cheered me on as I proudly went on stage to accept the award "2007 Consumer Product of the Year"!
The United States Patent Commissioner, John Doll, flew in to speak at the event...

Tom Frey, the executive director of The DaVinci Institute, brought Mr. Doll over to introduce us and to ask if I would show my invention to him personally. I proudly waved our new bright, full-color United States flag followed by a sweeping "USA" in red, white, and blue letters, and Mr. Doll smiled broadly. I had a proud moment that's hard to describe.

Several of the celebrity judges stuck around our booth for extended chats with us about LucidLights. For example, Steve Spangler wanted to discuss some educational opportunities he foresees for LucidLights. Steve hosts "Steve Spangler Science" a regular show that's gaining a large following locally, and now nationwide thanks to the Internet. He wants to get together soon for further discussions.

An independent film producer also chatted with us, and in December we were filmed for inclusion in preparation for his spring proposal to the Discovery Channel for a series of shows about startup inventors. Some of this news is proprietary, so stay tuned for further developments and information.
November and December have been filled with useful, educational, and productive trips and meetings with plastics manufacturers, LED suppliers, and other businesses. The publicity has caused our phone to ring a lot!
The January issue of Colorado Biz magazine has a nice article about LucidLights. Subscribers now have the magazine in their mail boxes, and it will be available in the magazine racks within the next week or so. You can read the online version of the article at either of the following links, but the printed article also includes a picture of John showing off his LucidLights full-color model, as shown above.

Recently, after showing LucidLights to a new investor we met with at a local restaurant, several teens came up to our table and one attractive young lady asked “Are you the guy that was on Channel 9?” I said yes and she said “Wow, I'm so glad to meet you!”, which made me feel a little like a rock star.
We're having fun! Stay tuned, a lot of exciting LucidLights growth is planned for 2008!
